If you think that this project is yet another take on Alexandre Dumas’s Three Musketeers, the story of three dashing young men and their adventures in 17th-century France, you’d be wrong! This is a documentary about three contemporary, courageous women from Georgia – a small, beautiful democracy in the Caucasus. These young women are real-life superheroes, accomplished athletes who are among the best in the world in their discipline: wheelchair fencing. They are also everyday heroes in their private lives, as they fight against invalidation, exclusion and discouragement.

You will discover what makes each of them so special as they struggle to overcome their own challenges and aim for a place at the top of the podium in the Paris Paralympics. Their stories will inspire you to live as they do: to be brave and persistent, and to live your life to the fullest.

Now the three Georgian-Origin wheelchair female fencers

composing the Georgia women wheelchair fencing Team are aiming for the podium at the Paris Olympics!

World Number 2

Irma Khetsuriani

Saber, "B" Category

Cinephiles first met multiple World and World Cup wheelchair fencing champion Irma Khetsuriani in 2023, when the short documentary Irma: I have a dream was presented to public acclaim at the Mestia International Film Festival.
The war stole Irma’s childhood. But it built up her character and allowed her to bravely face the disease that ultimately stole her mobility. And it gave her something priceless: endless faith in her own strength and ability.

World Number 2

Nina Tibilashbili

Saber, "A" Category

Nina Tibilashbili knows what it means to “be different from everyone else” from birth. Her difficult journey of self-discovery helped her hone strong traits that she shares with no one else. She loves life and doesn’t acknowledge physical limitations. Creative and strong-willed, she combines design and sports.

World Number 7

Gvantsa Zadishvili

Saber, "A" Category

Gvantsa Zadishvili started fencing by accident. On a visit to the doctor, she heard the sound of clashing sabers. That’s when fencing won her heart. She decided the tragedy that had cost her her mobility was no coincidence – that her life had something special in store for her. She had been waiting for a sign, and she got it. There is a chance an operation will allow Gvantsa to regain full mobility, but then she will have to say goodbye to fencing. In her heart, she has already made a choice in favour of her sport.

In this film, we share Irma, Nina and Gvantsa’s unique and inspiring life stories: their struggles against difficulty, misfortune and invalidation; their pursuit of world domination in their discipline; their outstanding courage which is an inspiration to us all.

Our international production crew is committed to bringing you their stories in a direct, immediate and participatory way.
